In A Minute! (...Or Two): Ep. #65

Ep. #65 with LaNesha Latimer, Fausto Cuevas, and Errol Cooney
"I Know Where I've Been"

Hairspray took over Broadway in 2002! The original cast recording won a GRAMMY Award even before the show took home eight Tony Awards. In 2008, it took over London setting a record with eleven Laurence Olivier Award nominations, winning four including Best New Musical. From tours to television specials, “You Can’t Stop the Beat” of this show with music by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Scott Wittman!
The show’s anthem, “I Know Where I’ve Been”, was originally protested by almost everyone involved with the show with concerns that it was too sad, too preachy, didn’t fit, or should be sung by the lead character. Shaiman stated, “Luckily…the audiences embraced this moment, which enriches the happy ending to follow, and it is our proudest achievement of the entire experience of writing Hairspray”.
MUSE/IQUE’s LaNesha Latimer, Fausto Cuevas, and Errol Cooney bring us “I Know Where I’ve Been”, calling on us all to reflect on the past and continue working towards a brighter tomorrow.
